Washington, DC (MMD Newswire) March 15, 2011 -- Shauna Anderson, long known as "The Queen of Chitlins" in Washington DC, launches "Offal Great: A Memoir From the Queen of Chitlins" on Kindle and other eBooks. Shauna and co-author Elizabeth Place have formed Ager Road Productions in anticipation of producing the screen adaptation. The Memoir which was first reviewed by Walter Nicholls in the Washington Post in 2006 has now gained attention from the local and national film community.

Shauna plans to film exclusively in the District and employ only local film production professionals, students, and actors. The film version of her story will feature her beautiful city of Washington DC as backdrop to her story.

Shauna Anderson Queen of Chitlins

Love, Chitlins, Politics, and Shady Dealings in the Washington Metro Area: Shauna grew up in DC during the 1960's, in public housing, under the thumb of an abusive aunt. Traumatic abuse resulted in a multiple personality disorder that went undiagnosed until Shauna was in her 50's. But Shauna used her many personalities to her benefit and grabbed every opportunity that came her way. Washington DC was a constant inspiration in Shauna's life, from her first solo bus ride at age seven down Delaware Avenue in Southwest DC, to her first job at the IRS, to real estate ventures around the city and her Chitlin Restaurants in the Northeast corner of DC. Shauna faced what seemed to be insurmountable odds and always with an amazing sense of humor. The characters in her memoir are bigger than life - caring, corrupt, conniving, famous, and infamous. From politicians to sports heroes to religious leaders - Shauna reveals behind the scene antics of the city's power brokers. Shauna's Washington DC is a wild, wild city of good and evil.

Shauna's book has been an inspiration to her customers and other readers. Now Shauna hopes to reach many more with her film debut: "The Queen of Chitlins".
