Chengdu, Sichuan, People's Republic of China (MMD Newswire) November 8, 2010 -- Green Leaf Film Studios has added a new 'star' to its roster of talent with the addition of leading Visual Effects Editor Tim Eaton. Eaton's work in VFX is world-renowned and includes recent projects such as Disney's 2009 A Christmas Carol, & The Polar Express both by Director Robert Zemeckis, as well working on such classic Hollywood blockbusters as Back to the Future 2 & 3, Death Becomes Her, Forrest Gump and Who Framed Roger Rabbit, also for Zemeckis.

"Tim's imaginative effects and his forward-thinking approach to the art and science of VFX are in perfect alignment with our mission to be on the leading edge of creative filmmaking," says Green Leaf studio head Gavin Crombie. Crombie founded the highly respected IDFGlobal animation studio in 1999. Green Leaf Film Studios was launched in 2009, an outgrowth of IDFGlobal.

Green Leaf Film Studios is a multi-focused animation/film studio that offers co-production, digital assets and VFX services, and also produces TV series and films in its own right. Within the first 3 months of operation, the company was able to schedule three years' worth of production projects and continues to grow in size, stature, and accomplishment.

"I am really excited to be heading up the VFX team at Green Leaf Film Studios," says Eaton. "My new team combines incredible talent and quick turnaround times with cost-effectiveness...three key ingredients in producing world-class VFX."

Additionally Eaton is the co-writer of "The Lost Wizard", an Epic Biopic of Inventor Nikola Tesla, which Green Leaf Film Studios are currently assessing as a possible International Co-production effort." http://theteslamovie.com/

The Greening of China

Based in the city of Chengdu in the Sichuan province of the People's Republic of China, Green Leaf is the world's first and only western-managed Chinese animation studio with a National Grade license. According to Crombie, "The management and direction skills of veteran filmmakers with extensive Hollywood and UK experience, combined with the talent of our team of more than 200 local animators, modelers, riggers and creative staff here in China allows Green Leaf to produce movies, TV series and other animation production for considerably less than western-based studios and in fast turnaround time-frames.

Green Leaf focuses on family-friendly films and TV productions. The company was named in honour of a young leukemia patient who died in 2008. His parting message to one of the founders of Green Leaf was 'Auntie, I tried to give you a handful of green leaves, but you gave me the whole spring.'

"With Tim Eaton on board at Green Leaf, we are looking ahead to meeting new challenges in 2011," reports Crombie. Among the projects on Green Leaf's schedule is a revolutionary iPad application that will create an "entirely new type of media-based interactive entertainment," he says.
